Examining the anatomy of spinal nerves, radices, and plexuses in detail, this study states that there are 31 pairs of symmetrically located spinal nerve segments in the human body, formed by the union of anterior and posterior roots. The anterior rami participate in plexus structures to create peripheral nerves. The vertebral column, consisting of 33 vertebrae, protects the spinal cord and cauda equina along the spinal canal. The anterior rami of spinal nerves form the cervical, brachial, lumbar, and sacral plexuses. The cervical plexus (C1-C4) provides sensory and motor innervation to the neck region and contains the phrenic nerve supplying the diaphragm. The brachial plexus, formed by C5-T1 roots, is divided into five parts—roots, trunks, divisions, cords, and terminal branches—and innervates the upper extremity. Originating from L1-L4 roots, the lumbar plexus is located within the psoas major muscle and innervates the pelvis and thigh via branches like the femoral and obturator nerves. The sacral plexus, formed by L4-S4 fibers, manages the motor and sensory functions of the lower extremity, buttocks, and perineum through the gluteal, pudendal, and sciatic nerves.
