This study aims to examine the consumption-oriented environmental consciousness perceptions of physical education and sports teaching students in terms of various demographic and lifestyle variables. Utilizing the general survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, the study group consists of 102 undergraduate students enrolled in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching at Bayburt University Faculty of Sports Sciences during the 2021-2022 academic year. Data were collected using a Personal Information Form and the Consumer Environmental Consciousness Perception Scale. According to the findings, the participants' levels of sensitivity consciousness, behavior consciousness, and overall consumer environmental consciousness are high, whereas their perceptions of social pressure and consciousness orientation are at a moderate level. No statistically significant differences were found in consumer environmental consciousness perceptions regarding gender, grade level, place of residence, monthly personal or family income, and active sports participation status. Conversely, students who engage in physical exercise demonstrated significantly higher levels of sensitivity, behavior, and overall environmental consciousness compared to those who do not. Furthermore, a significant negative correlation was found between weekly time spent on the internet and social media and consumer environmental consciousness, indicating that as digital media usage increases, environmental consciousness decreases. In conclusion, physical exercise positively supports environmental sensitivity and behavior, whereas excessive digital media usage may adversely affect consumer environmental consciousness.
