Bi-Rads Sınıflamasının Beşinci Baskısının Kazandırdığı Yenilikler

Meme Görüntüleme Raporlama ve Veri Sistemi (BI-RADS), meme patolojilerini raporlayan ve hekimler arası iletişimi standartlaştıran bir sistemdir. American College of Radiology (ACR) tarafından yayınlanan bu sistemin 2013'teki 5. baskısı; mamografi, ultrason ve MRG modaliteleri arasında terimleri uyumlu hale getirmek, yeni teknolojileri entegre etmek ve yönetim tavsiyelerini kategorilerden ayırmak gibi önemli değişiklikler getirmiştir. Bu baskıda sözlük yapıları standardize edilmiş, değerlendirme kategorileri netleştirilmiş ve elastografi gibi güncel yöntemler eklenmiştir. Genel cerrahi hekimlerinin tanı ve tedavi süreçlerinde bu güncel sınıflamaları takip etmesi büyük önem taşımaktadır.

The Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System (BI-RADS) is a standardized system for reporting breast pathologies and streamlining communication among physicians. The 5th edition, published by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in 2013, introduced significant changes to harmonize terminology across mammography, ultrasound, and MRI modalities, integrate newer technologies, and separate management recommendations from assessment categories. This edition standardized vocabulary structures, clarified assessment categories, and incorporated contemporary methods such as elastography. It is of great importance for general surgeons to closely follow these updated classifications for efficient diagnosis and treatment processes.
