İnfodemi
Özet
İnfodemi terimi, insanların kriz anlarında güvenilir bilgi ararken kısmen doğru ve kısmen yanlış aşırı bilgi yüküne maruz kalarak arayışlarının zorlaşmasını ifade eder. İlk olarak 2002 yılında ortaya atılan bu kavram, COVID-19 pandemisiyle beraber küresel ölçekte yeniden gündeme gelmiştir. Yanlış ve güvenilir olmayan sağlık bilgilerinin yayılımını ve belirleyicilerini inceleyen bilim dalına ise "infodemiyoloji" denmektedir. İnfodeminin yayılmasında geleneksel medyanın yanı sıra sosyal medya platformları, kontrolsüz bilgi akışı nedeniyle çok büyük bir rol oynamaktadır. Bu süreç, toplumlarda panik, korku, psikososyal olumsuzluklar ve hastalık bağlamında damgalanma gibi ciddi sorunlara yol açarak salgınla mücadeleyi güçleştirmektedir. Ayrıca politik figürlerin kanıtlanmamış bilgileri yayması da infodemiyi körükleyen etkenler arasındadır. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (DSÖ), bu tehdide karşı infodemi yönetimi çerçevesi ve yol haritası belirlemiştir. İnfodemiyle etkili mücadele; bilime dayalı verilerin toplanmasını, sağlık otoritelerinin halkın anlayacağı ortak ve kültürel açıdan hassas bir dil kullanmasını gerektirir. Ayrıca yanlış bilgilerle savaşan "mit avcıları"nın devreye sokulması ve sivil toplum, medya ile özel sektör gibi kilit paydaşlarla stratejik ortaklıklar kurulması büyük önem taşımaktadır. Sonuç olarak, multidisipliner risk iletişimi ve toplumsal kabulü sağlayan güçlü sağlık iletişimi, bilgi salgınlarının önlenmesinde hayati bir role sahiptir.
The term infodemic refers to the difficulty people face when seeking reliable guidance during a crisis due to being exposed to an excessive mix of partly accurate and partly inaccurate information. First introduced in 2002, this concept gained global prominence again with the COVID-19 pandemic, while the field of study examining the spread and determinants of such misinformation is defined as "infodemiology". Social media platforms, alongside traditional media, play a massive role in accelerating this phenomenon due to unmediated information flows, which subsequently triggers panic, fear, psychosocial impacts, and social stigma, thereby severely hindering public health responses. Political factors and the promotion of unproven assertions by world leaders also exacerbate the crisis, prompting the World Health Organization (WHO) to establish an infodemic management framework and roadmap. Effective management must be evidence-based, utilizing culturally sensitive and accessible language by health authorities to convey accurate messages across all segments of society. Furthermore, deploying "myth busters" and forging strategic partnerships with key communities, including civil society, media, and the private sector, are crucial to boosting message visibility. Ultimately, a multidisciplinary approach rooted in robust risk communication and community engagement is vital to overcoming the challenges of digital misinformation and ensuring public compliance.
