Özet

Acil servisler, yüksek hasta devir hızı ve hızlı müdahale gereksinimleri nedeniyle enfeksiyon bulaşma riskinin en yoğun olduğu dinamik akut bakım ortamlarıdır. Sağlık hizmeti ilişkili enfeksiyonların (SHİE) ve küresel pandemilerin önlenmesinde acil servis hemşireleri, kanıta dayalı uygulamaları hayata geçiren kritik sağlık profesyonelleridir. Enfeksiyon kontrolü; her hastanın enfekte kabul edildiği standart önlemler ile temas, damlacık ve solunum yolu gibi bulaş yoluna özgü izolasyon tedbirlerini kapsar. Standart önlemlerin temelini el hijyeni oluştururken; uygun kişisel koruyucu ekipman (maske, eldiven, önlük, gözlük) kullanımı, solunum hijyeni, çevre temizliği, tıbbi araç-gereçlerin sterilizasyonu ve atık yönetimi bu süreci destekler. Triaj alanında potansiyel bulaşıcı hastaların hızla tanımlanarak negatif basınçlı odalar veya izole alanlara yerleştirilmesi, çapraz bulaşmayı önlemede hayati rol oynar. Özellikle aerosol oluşturan işlemler sırasında asgari N95/FFP2 maske kullanımı ve hasta nakillerinde maske takılması zorunludur. Sonuç olarak acil hemşireleri; güncel rehberler doğrultusunda eylem planlarında aktif rol alarak, eğitim ve sürveyans süreçlerini koordine ederek hasta, çalışan ve toplum sağlığını korumakla yükümlüdür.

Emergency departments are dynamic acute care environments with high patient turnover and rapid intervention needs, creating a significant risk for infection transmission. Emergency nurses play a critical role as healthcare professionals implementing evidence-based practices to prevent healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) and global pandemics. Infection control encompasses standard precautions, assuming every patient is potentially infectious, alongside transmission-based isolation measures such as contact, droplet, and airborne precautions. Hand hygiene forms the foundation of standard precautions, supported by the proper use of personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, gowns, goggles), respiratory hygiene, environmental cleaning, medical equipment sterilization, and waste management. Rapid identification and isolation of potentially infectious patients in the triage area into negative pressure rooms or isolated zones are vital to preventing cross-contamination. Minimally, N95/FFP2 masks must be used during aerosol-generating procedures, and patients must wear masks during transport. In conclusion, emergency nurses are responsible for maintaining the safety of patients, healthcare workers, and public health at the highest level by taking active roles in action plans, coordinating training, and managing surveillance processes in line with current guidelines.
