Özet

Kulak Burun Boğaz (KBB) ve çene cerrahisi uzmanlarının ortak tedavi alanına giren odontojenik hastalıklar, kistler ve tümörler medikal boyutuyla büyük önem taşımaktadır. Odontojenik enfeksiyonların çoğunlukla mikst bakterilerden kaynaklandığı, bukkal, submental ve sublingual alanlar başta olmak üzere farklı fasiyal bölgelere yayılabileceği belirtilmektedir. Özellikle hava yolu tıkanıklığı gibi hayati riskler barındıran Ludwig anjinası ve retrofaringeal apseler acil müdahale gerektirmektedir. Gelişimsel ve inflamatuar olarak sınıflandırılan odontojenik kistlerin klinik, radyolojik ve histopatolojik özellikleri aktarılmaktadır. İyi huylu tümörler arasında en sık odontoma ve ameloblastoma görülürken, nadir de olsa ameloblastik karsinom gibi agresif seyirli kötü huylu odontojenik tümörler de incelenmektedir. Son olarak nazopalatin kanal kisti gibi non-odontojenik lezyonlar ile osteom, fibröz displazi ve Paget hastalığı gibi kemik patolojileri ayırıcı tanı ve tedavi yaklaşımlarıyla sunulmaktadır.

Odontogenic diseases, cysts, and tumors, which fall within the joint treatment scope of ENT and maxillofacial surgery specialists, hold significant medical importance. Odontogenic infections mostly originate from mixed bacteria and can spread to various facial spaces, particularly the buccal, submental, and sublingual areas. Ludwig's angina and retropharyngeal abscesses, which pose vital risks such as airway obstruction, require urgent intervention. Odontogenic cysts, classified as developmental and inflammatory, are detailed with their clinical, radiological, and histopathological features. Among benign tumors, odontoma and ameloblastoma are the most common, while aggressive malignant odontogenic tumors like ameloblastic carcinoma are also examined. Lastly, non-odontogenic lesions such as the nasopalatine duct cyst, along with bone pathologies like osteoma, fibrous dysplasia, and Paget's disease, are presented with their differential diagnoses and treatment approaches.
