Özet

İşitme kaybı, her yaştan insanı etkileyen ve bireylerin işitsel, sosyal ve psikolojik yaşam kalitesini doğrudan düşüren önemli bir sağlık sorunudur. Tıbbi veya cerrahi yöntemlerle tam olarak tedavi edilemeyen işitme kayıplarında, hastaların yaşam kalitesini artırmak ve özellikle çocuklarda dil gelişimini desteklemek amacıyla habilitasyon ve rehabilitasyon süreçleri büyük önem taşır. Bu süreçte, hastanın ihtiyacına göre konvansiyonel işitme cihazları, kemiğe implante edilen sistemler (BAHA, Bonebridge), orta kulak implantları, koklear implantasyon veya işitsel beyin sapı implantları (İBSİ) gibi çeşitli teknolojilerden yararlanılır. Ayrıca, gürültülü ortamlarda iletişimi kolaylaştıran kişisel FM sistemleri, kızılötesi sistemler ve uyarı cihazları gibi yardımcı teknolojiler de süreci destekler. Son dönemde geliştirilen kıkırdak iletimli işitme cihazları ve Earlens gibi doğrudan sürücülü teknolojiler, işitilebilir bant genişliğini artırarak hastalara daha geniş spektrumlu ve konforlu bir işitme restorasyonu sunmaktadır. Her işitme kaybı vakası benzersiz olduğundan, multidisipliner bir yaklaşımla medikal, odyolojik ve psikososyal değerlendirmelerin titizlikle yapılması ve en uygun cihazlandırma yönteminin seçilmesi tedavinin başarısında belirleyici rol oynamaktadır.

Hearing loss is a significant health issue affecting individuals of all ages, directly diminishing their auditory, social, and psychological quality of life. In cases where hearing loss cannot be fully treated through medical or surgical methods, aural habilitation and rehabilitation processes are of paramount importance to enhance patients' quality of life and particularly to support language development in children. Throughout this process, various technologies are utilized based on the patient's specific needs, including conventional hearing aids, bone-anchored systems (BAHA, Bonebridge), middle ear implants, cochlear implantation, or auditory brainstem implants (ABI). Additionally, assistive technologies such as personal FM systems, infrared systems, and alerting devices support the rehabilitation process by facilitating communication in noisy environments. Recent advancements, such as cartilage conduction hearing aids and direct-drive technologies like Earlens, extend the audible bandwidth, offering patients a broader spectrum and more comfortable hearing restoration. Since each case of hearing loss is unique, a multidisciplinary approach involving meticulous medical, audiological, and psychosocial evaluations, along with the selection of the most appropriate amplification or implantation method, plays a decisive role in the success of the treatment.
