Therapeutic interviewing structures a professional interaction process based on trust, respect, and collaboration between the nurse and the patient as the most fundamental and healing tool of nursing care. For the process to truly achieve its purpose, it is of critical importance for the nurse to possess qualities such as unconditional positive regard, empathy, honesty, and high self-awareness while being completely free from unconscious prejudices. The relationship process is examined in four main stages: preparation, orientation, working, and termination. While patients in severe conditions such as acute mania, uncontrollable psychotic agitation, or mutism are noted as unsuitable for interviewing, physical elements like positioning chairs at a 60-degree angle without any table barriers stand out. Throughout the interview, core communication techniques such as active listening, reflection of feeling and content, clarification, minimal encouragement, and silence must be skillfully utilized. The case example of Ayşe K., diagnosed with major depression, concretely demonstrates how theoretical principles are implemented in a clinical setting and how the patient's strengths are emphasized. In conclusion, these healing interviews, supported by objective documentation practices that also constitute legal grounds, directly contribute to the individual's recovery journey and the professional development of the nurse.
