This book includes a research on the antecedents and outcomes of proactive behavior in the workplace. The author explains the definition and general characteristics of proactive behavior. Additionally, different types of proactive work behaviors at the individual level are also discussed. The book addresses proactive motivational states and individual antecedents, referred to as proximal causes, as antecedents of proactive behavior. Furthermore, situational antecedents such as job design and job characteristics are also examined. The book also touches upon the outcomes of proactive behavior. This book can be a valuable resource for researchers and professionals who want to understand the importance and effects of proactive behavior in the workplace.
