This text examines the critical role of wearable Global Positioning System (GPS) technologies and motion sensors in player tracking and performance analysis in football. In modern football, match performance is determined by technical, tactical, psychological, biomechanical, and physical factors, and GPS technologies comprehensively measure athletes' total distance covered, running speeds, accelerations and decelerations, heart rates, calorie consumption, and workload levels both through real-time live data streams and post-match analysis. This scientific data provides instant tactical feedback to coaching staff while offering significant benefits in detecting and preventing injury risks associated with fatigue and overtraining. Widely used wearable systems such as Catapult, Polar Team Pro, and STATSports APEX stand out with their hardware, multi-sensor capabilities, and advanced software infrastructure. While Catapult offers heatmaps and tactical analysis advantages, Polar Team Pro allows simultaneous tracking of internal and external loads, and STATSports APEX ensures high positioning accuracy and detailed reporting via multiple satellite systems. Academic studies conducted across various leagues demonstrate that total distance, high-intensity running, and sprint parameters differ significantly based on players' positions. Consequently, wearable GPS technologies enhance the use of scientific data in football by providing objective evaluations and have become an indispensable part of modern football.
