Authored by Arif Yüce and Velittin Balcı, "e-Spor Tüketimi ve Tüketici Motivasyonları" (e-Sports Consumption and Consumer Motivations) thoroughly examines the conceptual dimension, historical evolution, and transformative effects on consumer behavior of e-sports, which has evolved into a billion-dollar global industry. Published by Akademisyen Kitabevi, this book addresses the e-sports ecosystem—including players, viewers, teams, media channels, and sponsors—by comparing it with traditional sports through the holistic lens of sports management and sports marketing. The primary objective of the study is to determine the consumption motivations and patterns of e-sports consumers in Türkiye using scientific methods. In this regard, the valid and reliable "e-Sports Consumption Scale (ETÖ)", developed in accordance with Turkish social structure and cultural dynamics, offers an original academic contribution to national and international literature. As a result of the research, e-sports consumption motivations are categorized into five core dimensions: Digital Recreation, Achievement-Competition Desire, Lifestyle, Technical Development, and Professional Expectation. This work serves as an indispensable reference guide for academics, researchers, sports managers, game developers, and marketing professionals seeking to understand the new consumption patterns, market opportunities, and target audience dynamics offered by the digitalizing world.
