Aging is a period in which chronic health problems increase with physiological changes. Age-related hearing loss called presbycusis is an example of this change. In this study, it was aimed to reveal the size and effects of presbycusis. While preparing the text, the definition, epidemiology and effects of presbycusis on the health of elderly individuals were investigated with the literature. Hearing loss has negative effects on the cognitive functions, emotional-social conditions and quality of life of elderly individuals. In order to control these effects, screening programs should be developed and individuals should be diagnosed early, as well as treatment and rehabilitation plans should be made for individuals.
