Özet

Bulaşıcı olmayan kronik hastalıkların önlenmesinde koruyucu beslenme modelleri, özellikle de Akdeniz ve DASH diyetleri hayati bir öneme sahiptir. Günümüzde sağlıksız beslenme, yetersiz fiziksel aktivite ve obezite gibi değiştirilebilir risk faktörleri; kardiyovasküler hastalıklar, tip 2 diyabet ve kanser gibi küresel mortalitenin %71'inden sorumlu olan rahatsızlıkların temel tetikleyicileridir. Beslenme tedavisi, bu hastalıkların önlenmesi ve yönetiminde disiplinler arası bir yaklaşımın vazgeçilmez bir parçası olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bitkisel kaynaklı besinler, tam tahıllar, taze sebze-meyve ve sızma zeytinyağı odaklı Akdeniz Diyeti ile sodyum kısıtlamasını ve düşük yağlı süt ürünlerini teşvik eden DASH Diyeti, zengin antioksidan ve posa içerikleri sayesinde inflamasyonu baskılamakta, kolesterolü düşürmekte ve insülin direncini azaltmaktadır. Ayrıca, yeterli su tüketimi ve şekersiz bitki çayları gibi doğru içecek seçimleri de genel sağlığı doğrudan desteklemektedir. Sonuç olarak, yaşam boyu sürdürülebilir ve bireyselleştirilmiş bu sağlıklı beslenme modellerinin günlük hayata adapte edilmesi, yaşam kalitesini artırmada ve kronik hastalık insidansını düşürmede en etkili koruyucu halk sağlığı müdahalesi olarak kabul edilmektedir.

Preventive nutrition models, particularly the Mediterranean and DASH diets, hold vital importance in preventing non-communicable chronic diseases. Today, modifiable risk factors such as unhealthy eating, physical inactivity, and obesity are the primary triggers of disorders like cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes, and cancer, which account for 71% of global mortality. Medical nutrition therapy is considered an indispensable part of an interdisciplinary approach to the prevention and management of these conditions. The Mediterranean Diet, focusing on plant-based foods, whole grains, fresh fruits, vegetables, and extra virgin olive oil, along with the DASH Diet, which promotes sodium restriction and low-fat dairy, suppress inflammation, lower cholesterol, and reduce insulin resistance due to their rich antioxidant and fiber content. Additionally, proper beverage choices like adequate water intake and unsweetened herbal teas directly support overall health. Consequently, adapting these sustainable and individualized healthy dietary patterns into daily life is recognized as the most effective preventive public health intervention for improving quality of life and reducing chronic disease incidence.
